SIM Card Terms & Conditions

1. Purpose of This Service

Our SIM‑card support programme is designed to help individuals experiencing data poverty, defined as lacking affordable, sufficient, private and secure data to meet essential needs.

SIM cards and data allowances are provided through the National Databank, administered by Good Things Foundation, with data supplied by networks such as O2, Vodafone, and Three.


2. Eligibility Criteria

To receive a SIM card, applicants must meet the National Databank criteria:

Basic Requirements

  • Be aged 18 or over.
  • Be from a low‑income household.

Additionally, at least one of the following must apply:

  • No or insufficient internet access at home.
  • No or insufficient internet access when away from home.
  • Cannot afford an existing mobile contract or top‑ups.

3. What You Will Receive

SIM type and data allowance may vary depending on availability.

O2 SIM Cards

  • 25GB data per month
  • Free UK calls & texts
  • Monthly top‑up via voucher codes for up to 12 months

Vodafone SIM Cards

  • 40GB data per month
  • Free UK calls & texts
  • Automatically renews monthly for 6 months

Three SIM Cards

  • 24GB preloaded data
  • One‑off allocation with no monthly refresh

4. Conditions of Use

  • Each person may receive one SIM card per 12‑month period.
  • Data and SIM cards must not be sold, traded, or used commercially.
  • Multiple applications by the same person may result in cancellation or disconnection.

5. Activation & Support

O2 SIM Activation

Activated monthly using a 16‑digit voucher code by calling 4444.

Vodafone SIM Activation

Preloaded and active immediately when inserted into a device.

Three SIM Activation

Preloaded with no further top-ups required.

Support is available through Our Open Door or your distribution hub.


6. Data Privacy

We only collect the minimum information required, such as name and postcode, to issue a SIM card and confirm network coverage in your area.


7. Availability & Limitations

All SIM cards and data allocations depend on stock provided through the National Databank and partner networks.

Services may change or be withdrawn in alignment with National Databank operational requirements.
